Maths rounding to 2d.p

In maths we are learning how to round to a 2 d.p. D.p means decennial point and that is what we are learning how to round to a 2  d.p we.  how do you do that you go to the second digit and underline the 3rd digit if the 3rd digit is 5 or more raise the score and if it is 4 or less let it rest EXAMPLE

5.456 will be 5.46

it will be  5.46 because the 3rd  digit was higher than 5 so i had to raise the score but if it was  less than 5 then the answer would have been 5.45.
